Movies in the MRI Suites

Columbia Daily Tribune featured a great article on how the Women’s and Children’s Hospital was able to get MRI goggles that play movies for kids while they have MRI scans performed. The article talks about how the goggles distract kids and assist in decreasing the wiggles, as well as boosting their confidence after being able to complete a scan by themselves. Personally I love the MRI goggles and am very grateful that we get to use them at the hospital I work at. I only wish the goggles weren’t so expensive and there could be more of them for both pediatric and adult patients having MRI scans. Hopefully as they gain popularity the price will go down.
